Deadpool CGI Breakdown with VRay



Deadpool was one of the breakout successes of 2016. By focusing on a “special” kind of humour this superhero film proved a huge hit with many. Utilising Deadpool’s famed 4th wall breaking technique, along with some brilliantly choreographed fight scenes, really helped this film shine.

A lot of the grunt behind the visuals of Deadpool was held up by Chaos Group’s V-Ray render engine. With this video we show you behind the scenes and an in-depth breakdown of the VFX created. The CGI assets range from highly realistic people, to vehicles and plenty of special effects.

“Deadpool” marks the beginning of a new era for superhero films, and one sequence in particular was key to setting the tone. This is an in-depth VFX breakdown reel showcasing the behind-the-scenes efforts by the Atomic Fiction team. The work involved creating computer generated characters, vehicles, and an entire urban environment, for the thrilling car chase that kicks off this new franchise!
